1. LETTUCE
Lettuce leaves are so easy to grow and are small enough to grow on a windowsill.
Lettuce is a fantastic plant to grow with kids. Kids can enjoy the harvest relatively soon too which is an added bonus!

2. SPRING ONION
Spring onion seedlings normally appear in 14 - 21 days and are super easy to grow. For continues crops sow every 2 - 3 weeks.

7. PARSNIP
Parsnip is super easy to grow but a little tricky to germinate. Ensuring that the soil is moist at all times.

8. LEMON BALM
Growing herbs with children is a great way to get them started in the garden.
Herbs are brilliant as they can be planted practically all year round.

9. CHARD
Chard is a has a 2 year life cycle, it is cultivated as an annual in the vegetable garden and harvested in it's first season of growth.

Chard is a biennial plant, meaning it has a two year life cycle, but it is cultivated as an annual in the vegetable garden and harvested in its first season of growth. Once it begins to flower and set seed in its second year, its leaves turn bitter and unpalatable.
10. FRENCH BEANS
Planting Broad beans with kids is so much fun, especially when planting climbing beans.

11. RADISH
Radish is super fun to grow with kids, they grow super quickly, brilliant for salads which the kids are always readily ready to help you pick.

12. FENNEL
Fennel is a great herb to grow, it can be used in tea, salads and can be accompanied when making fish. Fennel hates having it's roots disturbed or transplanted. Plant in pots or the ground.
